Coverage is always partial

A single exchange pair excludes other spot venues, futures, options, over-the-counter transactions, and internalized flow. Even multi-venue coverage can miss private liquidity and differ in latency or symbol rules.

Market Tug states its scope as Binance Spot BTCUSDT. That specificity makes the signal reproducible but does not make it global.

The visible book is not guaranteed liquidity

Level 2 shows displayed limit orders, not hidden size or the owner's future behaviour. Orders can be cancelled before execution, replenished after fills, or moved as prices change. Large displayed walls can therefore overstate durable resistance.

Executed taker flow is firmer evidence of completed activity, but it is backward-looking and can include hedging, arbitrage, or liquidation-related behaviour that public trade fields cannot fully explain.

Engineering choices change the reading

Window length, depth band, notional conversion, normalization, smoothing, hysteresis, update frequency, and stale thresholds all affect an indicator. Results from different versions should not be combined without a visible boundary.

Sequence gaps, clock differences, network delay, and restarts can corrupt a local view if they are not handled. Market Tug validates those conditions and stops directional output when trust is lost.

Description is not prediction

A strong current imbalance can reverse immediately, be absorbed, or coexist with a price move in the opposite direction. Testing an association on historical data would still require controls for costs, selection, changing regimes, and out-of-sample performance.

Use short-term indicators to understand current market mechanics and data quality. Do not interpret a pressure score as a probability, recommendation, or substitute for independent risk assessment.
